Healing at THOP

It was an awesome day at THOP yesterday. During the time for healing prayer the presence of God was thick in the room. A group of the staff (including Josh) prayed for a lady with pain in her knees. She had been injured in an accident 7 years earlier and had been in pain ever since. As the staff prayed, she was healed from the pain. Not only that, but as they prayed they could visibly see one of her legs extending in length to match the other one. God healed her of both the pain and the visible sign of her accident. It was awesome, and confirmed to me once again the importance of prayer and asking God to come be himself among his people.

Comical but Painful

Well ladies and gentlemen, today something quite comical but painful happened to me while I was walking across the grassy knoll between the Urban Lounge office and the supermarket. I had to cross a small rocky rise that is the base for train tracks that run to the Port of Tauranga from the mainland. Normally this is not a problem - but today I was wearing very big, heavy, tall shoes. I knew I needed to be careful. So up the rise I went, over the tracks, and one step down, two steps down and, bang! I twisted my foot and went tumbling to the grass on the other side. My first thought was - ouch. My second thought was, oh. "I hope that none of our clients saw that". I was in direct line of sight of our upstairs meeting rooms.

In the end, no one saw me take the tumble – except the guy who honked at me from the road. The girls at the office did think it would have been pretty funny to see though. Me, the towering 5 foot 9 inch girl in my heels, crumbling to the ground. However despite the comedy of what it might have looked like.I really did sprain something in my foot. So right now I have it elevated and iced, and I’m hoping I can walk normally tomorrow.

What a week.....

I can't believe it has been a week since I have blogged. It was one of those weeks that just seemed to fly by. So much happened, yet now I can hardly remember what did happen. It seems like every night something was going on and by the time I got home it was way past my bed time. Here is a short review of life, and then once again, it is my bedtime. Eight am comes early.

The week started out with Lisa, (Josh's 21 year old sister) being put into hospital for her diabetes:< Then Valentines day hit, and Josh surprised me with hand wrapped (by himself) chocolates at first light. Then it was on to public prayer services, trying to figure out details for the DTS, and then of course figuring out taxes in two countries. Oh and then, it was my brother Chris's B-day. Chris, happy birthday...sorry I haven’t gotten to call you yet. I really want too chat! Life has been a bit crazy!

Today, was much like the week - full of activity. After a walk of the beach, Josh and I parted ways. I picked up Julia (our cousin) and off we went to entertain Lisa at hospital. Then we had a coffee with Auntie Liz and Uncle Phil, and finally the day finished with a welcome dinner for Graeme and Sabrina Walsh. Graeme and Sabrina, we are glad you are here - we will take you with open arms until God sends you elsewhere.

Why?

In a country where Dairy is a major industry, I have to ask, "why does Cheese cost $17.00 a kilo?" And in country where dairy farmers are recieving over a million dollar payout yearly from Fontera, "why does butter cost $4.00 a brick?" When I moved here a little over two years ago, a block of butter cost 99 cents, and cheese was maybe 8 bucks a kilo. Times are changing, that is for sure, and I want to know why? Someone please explain!

Redeeming Love

Rarely have I read a book so inspiring and captivating as Francine Rivers novel, Redeeming Love. I just finished reading it for the third time (yes I know that is a bit extreme) and it was just as good as the first time. It is like a good movie that you watch again and again, the book is so captivating that you can literally read it again and again. I just had to recommend it to everyone who visits this site. It makes for a great quite time too. Mainly because once you start reading it, you simply can't put it down.

To think on...and act on.....

So I have been thinking about this verse of scripture a bit latley.

"Go to the ant and consider her ways and be wise! The ant having no cheif, overseer, or ruler, provides her food in the summer and gathers her supplies in the harvest"
Proverbs 6:6

How intersting is it that the scripture is telling us that ants are smart and we should act like them? We should work without having to be proded in times of plenty, to prepare for times of slim pickings. This being said, I would like to present to you my garden. I'm very proud of it, little as it is. It is the first time I have ever had one - so please be kind. I'm growing brocoli, capsicum (bell peppers) and lettuce. Pretty cool huh?
